JULY 2008 PRESS RELEASE
“INANNA” – Peggy Firestone retells the ancient Sumerian myth that chronicles Inanna’s quest for identity as she traverses the earth, the underworld, and even death. Firestone’s contemporary poetic text captures both the specific time and place of the world of Inanna as well as the essence of the story as it transcends the ancient world to speak to us now. “Inanna” features an original live score by Winnipeg-based composer, conductor, and concert pianist of international acclaim Rei Hotoda and is directed by award winning director/choreographer Jeremy Williams. The ensemble includes members from current students and alums from Naropa University’s MFA Theatre: Contemporary Performance program as well as other local and guest artists.
